OHIO — Ohio residents should prepare for their first snow of the season, with multiple schools across the state potentially closing as winter weather moves in.
According to weather forecasts, most areas of Ohio could see at least an inch of snow Monday through Tuesday.
Northeast Ohio, particularly from Cleveland to Ashtabula, is expected to receive the heaviest accumulation, with more than five inches possible due to Lake Effect Snow.
Central and western Ohio may see around an inch, while southern Ohio could receive up to two inches.
Temperatures on Monday are expected to remain in the high 30s across much of the state, which could create slick driving conditions. Officials are warning drivers to take it slow and prepare for hazardous roads.
With these winter conditions approaching, school districts across the state are monitoring forecasts closely and have already indicated that closures or delayed openings are likely next week.
