SOUTH CAROLINA — Mullins police have arrested two people in connection with a shooting outside a local motel and are searching for additional suspects.

Authorities said officers responded to the Imperial Motel at 1306 N. Main St. on Oct. 27 after reports of shots fired. At the scene, police found a trail of blood in the parking lot and learned that a 25-year-old victim had been injured and taken to a hospital.

Officers recovered several shell casings in front of motel rooms and collected evidence, including surveillance footage of the incident.

Two people, 24-year-old De’maurii Platt and 23-year-old Tyzon Mercer, were arrested Tuesday. Both face multiple charges, including attempted murder, pointing and presenting firearms, and breach of peace. A judge denied bond for both, and they remain in the Marion County Jail.

Mullins Police Chief Philip Mostowski said the department is continuing to investigate and is seeking other individuals involved in the shooting.
