GEORGIA — Police are investigating a homicide after a 29-year-old man was shot and killed early Friday morning.
According to the Albany Police Department, officers responded to reports of gunshots around 3:13 a.m. in the 1400 block of East Residence Avenue. When they arrived, they found Johnthan Wimbish lying unresponsive in the roadway. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities say the investigation is ongoing as they work to determine the circumstances that led to the shooting.

The victim’s family has set up a GoFundMe page to support funeral expenses.
