OHIO — A 33-year-old man has been charged with murder after deputies say he fatally stabbed his father during an argument Thursday night.
The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office said deputies responded to a home in the 8300 block of Wicklow Avenue just after 7 p.m. When they arrived, they found 69-year-old John Luecke dead from multiple stab wounds inside the residence. The Hamilton County Coroner’s Office later confirmed his identity.
Detectives said the victim’s son, 33-year-old Jared Luecke, admitted to stabbing his father. According to court documents, an argument between the two escalated into a physical confrontation.
Investigators say the younger Luecke first struck his father with a crow bar, but the older man managed to take it away. The son then allegedly stabbed his father seven to eight times with a knife.
Authorities said Jared Luecke attempted to clean the scene using kitchen supplies before deputies arrived. He was taken into custody and charged with murder and tampering with evidence.
He is currently being held in jail and is scheduled to appear for arraignment at 9 a.m. The case remains under investigation.
