TENNESSEE — Two people were killed in a two-vehicle crash Thursday morning in South Nashville, according to the Metro Nashville Police Department.
The collision occurred around 9:15 a.m. at the intersection of Trousdale Drive and Briarwood Drive.
Police said 22-year-old Nicholas Moralas Gomez was riding a BMW motorcycle north on Trousdale Drive when he entered the intersection and struck the driver’s side door of a 2009 Ford F-150 pickup truck.
The pickup, driven by 37-year-old Dale Clay, was traveling east on Briarwood Drive and was turning in the intersection when it was hit by the motorcycle.
Gomez died at the scene. Clay was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he later died.
Investigators said the motorcyclist had the right of way and that there were no signs of impairment. Police are still determining whether speed may have been a factor in the crash.
