One person arrested after shooting into home in North Carolina

NORTH CAROLINA — A Marion man has been charged with multiple felonies after allegedly firing a gun into an occupied home, authorities said.

On Oct. 9, a deputy from the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office responded to a weapons complaint. The victim reported that someone had fired near their home the previous evening, and bullet holes were discovered inside the residence.

During the investigation, detectives identified 45-year-old Jayson Michael Gibson as the suspect. When arrested, Gibson was found in possession of suspected amounts of methamphetamine and marijuana, according to the sheriff’s office.

Gibson faces the following felony charges: possession of a firearm by a felon, discharging a weapon into an occupied dwelling, possession with intent to manufacture, sell, or deliver marijuana, possession of methamphetamine, and possession of marijuana.

Officials confirmed that Gibson was issued a secured bond of $125,000.
