TENNESSEE — Authorities are warning residents to be on alert after a man allegedly fired shots from a vehicle in South Nashville Wednesday morning.

The Metro Nashville Police Department reported that shortly before 10 a.m., the suspect fired shots from a red Nissan Sentra near Waikiki Boulevard.

Officers said the man was also seen carrying a gun inside Plaza Mariachi on Nolensville Pike, though no shots were fired inside the business.

There is no shelter-in-place order, but schools in the area have been placed on “lock out” as a precaution while police search for the suspect.

Metro Nashville dispatch logs show two separate calls about shots fired within minutes of each other: one at 9:03 a.m. in the 3900 block of Nolensville Pike in Woodbine, and another at 9:07 a.m. at the intersection of Nolensville Pike and Thompson Lane in Glencliff.

Police are urging anyone who sees the suspect or the vehicle to call 911 immediately. No additional details have been released.
