NORTH CAROLINA — Two men have been arrested in connection with a home invasion that left one person dead in Forest City last month, according to the Forest City Police Department.

Officers from the Forest City Police Department and the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office responded to a home on Harris Lee Drive on October 24, where they found 25-year-old Tyler D. Weaver dead on the floor.

Later that day, warrants were issued for 26-year-old Jaquavious Antwan Craig of Grover and 35-year-old Quitez Lamare Watkins of Lawndale on charges of first-degree murder. Authorities contacted the U.S. Marshals Office for assistance after learning both suspects had fled the area.

On Monday, members of the U.S. Marshals Office and the Carolinas Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested Watkins and transported him to the Rutherford County Detention Center. That same day, police said Craig turned himself in at the detention center.

Both men are being held without bond and are awaiting their first court appearances.

The investigation remains ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Forest City Police Department at 828-248-5555, Rutherford County Crime Stoppers, or submit a tip through the department’s mobile app.
