
PENNSYLVANIA — Six workers were taken to the hospital late Monday night following an underground accident at the Harvey Mine in Greene County.
Emergency crews responded to the mine on Patterson Creek Road shortly after 11:20 p.m., according to officials.
Core Natural Resources, which operates the mine, said the incident involved a water hose underground. Six workers were transported to a hospital for treatment, and five have since been released.
According to the company’s website, Core Natural Resources is a “producer and exporter of high-quality, low-cost coals” for the global marketplace.
The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
