ALABAMA — The Semmes Police Department is searching for a woman accused of shoplifting from a local store and assaulting an officer during the incident.
According to SPD officials, the woman was caught on surveillance video inside the Publix on Schillinger Road.
When confronted, she allegedly attempted to gouge the officer’s eyes and bit his finger, causing him to lose feeling in it.
Police said the woman fled into the woods off Silver Pine Road around 12:30 p.m. and remains at large.
