SOUTH CAROLINA — The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that left two people injured early Sunday morning, authorities said.
Deputies responded around 1:30 a.m. to reports of a gunshot victim on South Forest Beach Drive. A 17-year-old male was found suffering from a gunshot wound and transported to a medical facility for treatment.
Later, authorities learned of a second victim, an 18-year-old male, who had already been taken to a hospital before deputies arrived.
During the investigation, deputies identified a vehicle connected to the shooting. When officers attempted to stop the vehicle, it tried to flee, but a tire deflation device was deployed to end the chase. Multiple occupants were detained, and two suspects were arrested.
Erick Alexander Martinez Ambrosio, 18, of Bluffton, was charged with attempted murder, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, and aggravated breach of peace. Jonathan Ambrosio Reyes, 17, also of Bluffton, was charged with fleeing to evade arrest, failure to stop for blue lights, and accessory after the fact of attempted murder.
The circumstances leading up to the shooting remain under investigation. Anyone with information is urged to contact Master Sergeant Seifert at 843-255-3414.
