OHIO — A Cincinnati man is facing multiple drug charges after authorities in southern Ohio seized more than $50,000 worth of suspected narcotics during a search last week, according to the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office.

Eric Johnson, 28, was arrested on October 27 following an investigation by the Southern Ohio Drug Task Force. Officers with the task force, along with the Portsmouth Police Department SWAT team, executed a narcotics-related search warrant at a residence near the intersection of 12th and Lincoln streets in Portsmouth.

During the search, investigators reportedly found about 391 grams of suspected fentanyl and/or opiates and 51 grams of suspected crack cocaine. Officers also seized a loaded firearm, digital scales, sandwich baggies, other drug trafficking materials, and $1,673 in cash. The estimated street value of the seized drugs is $51,900.

Johnson has been charged with drug trafficking and drug possession. He is being held at the Scioto County Jail on bond, and his case will be presented to a grand jury for possible additional felony charges.
