OHIO — One person was hospitalized after a shooting on the University of Dayton campus late Saturday night, according to university officials.
Officers from University of Dayton Public Safety and the Dayton Police Department responded to the first block of Evanston Avenue just before 11:50 p.m. following reports of shots fired.
One individual was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, officials said.
A shelter-in-place order was issued for the campus community early Sunday morning while officers investigated the scene. The order, which lasted about an hour, was lifted around 1:22 a.m., and an all-clear message followed at 1:48 a.m.
As of Sunday morning, officials had not confirmed whether anyone was taken into custody. The incident remains under investigation.
