NORTH CAROLINA — A 15-year-old is in intensive care after being shot Saturday night in Robeson County, according to Maxton Police Chief Schirra Johnson.
Police said the shooting happened on North Brooklyn Street in the Maxton area. Johnson said investigators believe the incident may be connected to a prior altercation on Cottingham Street.
Several persons of interest have been identified, but no arrests have been made. The North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation is assisting with the case.
Johnson said the investigation remains active, and additional information will be released as it becomes available.
