Police respond to barricade situation in South Carolina

SOUTH CAROLINA — The Myrtle Beach Police Department is responding to a barricade situation Friday morning at a home on Highway 15.

Officers were called to 1504 Highway 15, Lot 1, around 10:07 a.m. for a disturbance. When officers tried to speak with the alleged suspect, he reportedly barricaded himself inside the residence.

“This remains an active and ongoing situation,” the department posted on Facebook. “Our officers are working to bring this incident to a safe resolution for everyone involved.”

Police are asking residents to avoid the area and to remain patient while the situation is resolved. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Myrtle Beach Police Department at 843-918-1382.
