TENNESSEE — The Hamblen County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after two people were found dead in a home Thursday night.
Deputies responded to the residence at 9:45 p.m. following an open 911 call.
Unable to make contact at the front door, officers checked the back of the home, where they saw a man lying on the floor of the family room with a handgun nearby.
Upon entering the home, deputies found a woman on the couch. Both victims had gunshot wounds and were unresponsive.
Detectives with the Criminal Investigations Division are handling the investigation. The sheriff’s office is withholding the identities of the victims pending family notification.
