OHIO — Additional details have been released about a crash that occurred Monday on County Road 10 in Bellefontaine.

According to the Logan County Sheriff’s Office, a 2014 Dodge Avenger driven by Jack LaRue, 71, of Bellefontaine, was traveling west when he attempted to turn into a driveway.

Deputies said LaRue drove into the path of an eastbound 2016 Jeep Patriot operated by Abbie Field, 31, of East Liberty.

LaRue was cited for failure to yield the right of way.

While deputies initially reported no injuries, updated information shows that LaRue was later taken by private vehicle to Union Memorial Hospital for treatment.

Three children riding in LaRue’s vehicle were transported to Mary Rutan Hospital with suspected serious injuries, and two of them were later transferred to Nationwide Children’s Hospital for additional care.

Both vehicles were towed from the scene. The Logan County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the crash.
