OHIO — Two Wendy’s locations in the Dayton area have permanently closed as part of the fast-food chain’s plan to shutter underperforming restaurants nationwide.
The affected locations are:
- 2948 Miamisburg Centerville Road in Miami Township, near the Dayton Mall.
- 4465 Indian Ripple Road in Beavercreek, near The Greene shopping center.
A sign posted on the door of one of the closed restaurants informed customers of the closures and directed them to the Miamisburg location at 2205 Heincke Road.
In October, Wendy’s announced plans to close 140 underperforming locations by the end of 2024.
However, the company remains focused on expansion, with a spokesperson confirming that it is on track to open 250–300 new restaurants this year.
“As a 55-year-old brand with more than 7,100 restaurants across the globe, closures are a normal activity to maintain a healthy system,” the company said in a statement.
The closures are part of an ongoing effort to optimize the company’s restaurant portfolio while continuing to grow its presence globally.
