
NORTH CAROLINA — A 37-year-old woman from Rocky Mount was arrested Wednesday after authorities said she was driving recklessly and under the influence with four children in her vehicle, according to the State Highway Patrol.
Officials said Nikki Ann Burnette was observed traveling 102 mph in a 70 mph zone. Court documents indicate that she had four children in the car at the time of the offense.
Burnette faces multiple charges, including four counts of misdemeanor child abuse, driving while impaired, and felony possession of cocaine.
She is currently being held at the Pitt County Detention Center under a $50,000 bond.
