OHIO — A routine traffic stop led to the recovery of illegal drugs, a firearm, and cash in Butler County, according to the Butler County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies said a K-9 unit was called to assist the Hamilton Police Department with a free-air sniff during the stop, resulting in what they described as a “significant” drug and weapon seizure.
Authorities recovered 85.4 grams of methamphetamine, 12.9 grams of crack cocaine and 2.9 grams of fentanyl. Deputies also found a loaded .380-caliber firearm and $1,409 in cash.
The driver, 32-year-old Gary Rumph, was arrested and faces multiple charges, including trafficking and possession of meth, cocaine, and fentanyl; permitting drug abuse; two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia; and carrying a concealed weapon.
Rumph is currently on parole for previous drug and weapons charges, according to deputies.
