FLORIDA — A shooting outside a movie theater near Orlando International Airport Monday night led to a police chase and the arrest of multiple suspects, according to the Orlando Police Department.
Officers responded around 10:45 p.m. to the parking lot of the Epic Theater, where they found one person suffering from non-life-threatening injuries. Police said the incident was “drug-related.”
A short time later, officers located the suspects’ vehicle and pursued it into Winter Park. The car crashed at the intersection of Lee and Wymore avenues around 11:30 p.m., according to a Winter Park Fire Department call log.
Police said the suspects were taken into custody after a brief foot chase. Their names have not yet been released, but they are expected to face attempted murder charges.
The theater was closing for the night at the time of the shooting, staff said. It was not immediately clear whether the victim or suspects had attended a movie beforehand.
