LOUISIANA — A woman from Donaldsonville was arrested for trying to smuggle drugs into the Federal Prison in Grant Parish, according to the Grant Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities said Shannon Butler, 50, was carrying a young child at the time of the arrest.
Butler was charged with distribution of methamphetamine, distribution of synthetic marijuana, distribution of Suboxone, illegal use of drugs in the presence of a child, and introducing contraband into a penal institution.
The sheriff’s office noted this is the 35th arrest since January involving attempts to smuggle drugs into jail facilities in the parish.
