OHIO — Two people are hospitalized with life-threatening injuries following a wrong-way crash on Interstate 75 early Sunday morning, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP).
Troopers were called to the scene around 2:30 a.m. between the Wales Road and Buck Road exits.
Investigators said a passenger vehicle carrying three adults was traveling the wrong way on the interstate when it collided with a commercial semi truck.
Two passengers from the car were taken to a nearby hospital with critical injuries, while the driver suffered minor injuries, OSHP said. The driver of the semi truck was not hurt.
Authorities have not released the identities, ages, or genders of those involved, but confirmed all are adults. It is not yet known if drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.
The collision prompted the closure of all northbound lanes of I-75 near Buck Road for several hours. The Ohio Department of Transportation advised drivers to seek alternate routes while crews worked to clear the scene.
During the closure, officers arrested a suspected drunk driver who tried to drive through the blocked area, according to OSHP.
The crash remains under investigation.
