IOWA — One person is dead and another injured following a two-vehicle crash in Fayette County on Friday morning.
According to authorities, the collision occurred around 10:55 a.m. at the intersection of S Avenue and 100th Street.
Investigators say a Ford F150 crossed the centerline and struck a Chevrolet Equinox traveling east on 100th Street. Both vehicles came to rest in the middle of the roadway.
The 79-year-old driver of the Chevrolet Equinox died at the scene. The 33-year-old driver of the Ford F150 was taken to the hospital with injuries.
The Iowa State Patrol is continuing to investigate the cause of the crash. No further details have been released.
