
NORTH CAROLINA — Two men have been arrested following what officials say is the largest methamphetamine seizure in Alamance County history.
According to the Alamance Narcotics Enforcement Team, Artemio Avilez, 33, and Margarito Galindo, 58, were arrested Friday and charged with trafficking methamphetamine.
Authorities said multiple agencies assisted in the operation, including the High Point Police Department, FBI, Alamance County Sheriff’s Office, DEA, and Orange County Sheriff’s Office.
Investigators seized 413 pounds of methamphetamine with an estimated street value of $5.6 million.
Both suspects are in custody, each being held on a $750,000 bond. The investigation remains ongoing.
