PENNSYLVANIA — Authorities are investigating the death of a man whose body was found Wednesday morning along railroad tracks near Pennsylvania Avenue in Johnstown’s West End.
The body was discovered by a Norfolk Southern railroad conductor. Cambria County Coroner Jeff Lees, District Attorney Greg Neugebauer, and Johnstown Police Chief Mark Britton confirmed a death investigation is underway.
Lees said the man, believed to be in his 30s, had facial injuries and authorities are seeking help identifying him. He has tattoos reading “Mason” and “Ethan” on his left forearm and a skull on his left hand.
Neugebauer said the death is being treated as suspicious pending autopsy results, which are scheduled for Wednesday afternoon. Chief Britton added that detectives are reviewing nearby cameras along the railroad for potential leads.
