OHIO — A man believed to be under the influence stole an ambulance from the UH Chardon Health Center on Tuesday evening, according to Geauga County Sheriff Scott A. Hildenbrand.
Hildenbrand said the suspect was at the hospital when he ran outside, got into an ambulance, and drove away. No one else was inside the vehicle at the time.
Deputies later located the ambulance several miles away in Newbury Township and took the driver into custody without incident.
Authorities have not yet released the man’s name or the charges he is expected to face.
