TENNESSEE — At least one person was killed early Tuesday morning in a crash involving a garbage truck on Interstate 24, according to Metro police.
The collision occurred in the westbound lanes near mile marker 33 just after midnight. Police said the crash involved a garbage truck and a tractor-trailer.
The right lane and shoulder were closed for several hours as crews worked at the scene. All lanes reopened to traffic around 8:30 a.m.
No additional details about the victim or cause of the crash have been released. The investigation is ongoing.
