Two people injured following separate shootings on same street in North Carolina

NORTH CAROLINA — Two people were hospitalized following two separate shootings Saturday night on South Elm Street, authorities said.

The first shooting occurred shortly before 10:30 p.m. in the 500 block of South Elm Street.

Greensboro Police and Guilford County EMS responded, and the victim, who sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries, was taken to a local hospital. Police said the circumstances leading to the shooting are under investigation.

A second shooting happened nearby in the 600 block of South Elm Street. The male victim, who police said was injured during an unrelated altercation, was also hospitalized with serious but non-life-threatening injuries and has since been released.

As of Sunday morning, authorities said there is no suspect information for either incident. The investigations remain ongoing.
