Three people arrested following drug bust in North Carolina

NORTH CAROLINA — Three men were arrested on drug-related charges following a long-term investigation by the Pitt County Sheriff’s Office, authorities said.

The men arrested yesterday are 33-year-old Kentrell Alston, 42-year-old Jamal Strong, and 55-year-old Darryl Fleming. Officials said the investigation targeted organized criminal activity in the area.

Alston faces multiple charges, including five counts of trafficking opium or heroin, five counts of maintaining a dwelling for controlled substances, four counts of possessing or distributing controlled substances within 1,000 feet of a child care center, and possession with intent to sell or deliver cocaine.

Strong was charged with two counts of possession with intent to sell or deliver cocaine, while Fleming faces two counts of possession with intent to sell or deliver heroin and two counts of maintaining a dwelling for controlled substances.

All three men were taken to the Pitt County Jail. Alston is being held without bond, Strong posted a $10,000 secured bond, and Fleming remains in custody under a $40,000 bond.
