WISCONSIN — A Merrimac resident was arrested after two drug-related search warrants were executed in Sauk County in late September, authorities announced Tuesday.

The warrants were part of an ongoing investigation into methamphetamine and other drug use and distribution, as well as related community concerns.

Searches were conducted at residences on Gruber’s Grove Road in the town of Sumpter and on Baltic Avenue near the Sauk/Columbia County line. Officers reported finding illegal drugs, controlled substances, drug paraphernalia, and firearms.

The 37-year-old Merrimac resident faces multiple charges, including delivery of methamphetamine greater than 3 grams, possession of cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia, maintaining a drug trafficking place, bail jumping, felon in possession of a firearm, and a sex offender registry violation.

The investigation is ongoing. Authorities are asking anyone with information to contact Sauk County Crime Stoppers at 1-888-TIP-SAUK (1-888-847-7285) or their local law enforcement agency.

The Sauk County Drug Task Force, which includes officers from multiple local agencies and the Wisconsin National Guard Counter-Drug Program, conducted the searches with assistance from the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office.
