OHIO — One person has died following a crash Monday morning on Route 7 near Cheshire.
According to Gallia County dispatchers, the crash occurred around 10:20 a.m. in the area of the Kyger Creek power plant and substation. The Ohio State Highway Patrol said the crash involved a semi-truck and a pickup truck that was hauling a trailer carrying a vehicle.
As of Monday afternoon, troopers had not released information on whether anyone else was injured.
Traffic on Route 7 was being diverted through Little Kyger Road and State Route 544 while emergency crews worked at the scene.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating the crash with assistance from the Gallia County Sheriff’s Office, Gallipolis Volunteer Fire Department, and Gallia County EMS.
