INDIANA — A 4-year-old girl was injured in an overnight shooting at an apartment complex in South Bend.
Police said the incident occurred just before 1:30 a.m. at the Miami Hills Apartments. The girl was inside an apartment when gunfire from outside struck her. She was taken to a hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Several other apartments were also damaged by gunfire, though no other injuries were reported.
No arrests have been made. Police are asking anyone with information to contact Michiana Crime Stoppers at 574-288-STOP (7867) or submit an anonymous tip online. Tips that lead to an arrest in a gun violence case may be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000.
