VIRGINIA — Two juveniles are facing multiple charges in connection with a series of vehicle break-ins across several Caroline County neighborhoods, according to the Caroline County Sheriff’s Office.

Investigators said two armed suspects were caught on surveillance video entering unlocked vehicles and stealing items in neighborhoods including Glen Meadows, Campbell’s Creek, Bridlewood, Countryside Apartments, and Lake Land’Or.

On Thursday, Oct. 2, deputies from Fluvanna County assisted Caroline County investigators in serving search warrants at two homes in the Ladysmith Village subdivision. During the searches, authorities recovered two firearms, numerous credit and banking cards, and electronics believed to have been stolen.

The two juveniles were arrested and charged with possessing handguns as minors without adult supervision, felony theft of firearms, felony conspiracy to commit grand larceny, wearing a mask to conceal identity while committing a crime, and brandishing a firearm.

Both were transported to the Merrimac Juvenile Detention Facility, where they remain pending further court proceedings. Their names are not being released due to their age.

“This case shows the power of persistence and partnership,” Sheriff C. Scott Moser said in a statement. “Our investigators and deputies worked tirelessly to identify and arrest those responsible for placing our citizens in danger and for stealing their property. At the same time, our community stepped forward with information that played a vital role in identifying suspects. Because of that teamwork, stolen firearms have been recovered, and accountability is being brought to those responsible. To every citizen who called, shared information, or stayed vigilant, thank you. Together, we are sending a strong message that this type of criminal activity will not be tolerated in Caroline County.”

The investigation remains ongoing, and officials said additional arrests are possible. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Caroline County Sheriff’s Office at 804-633-5400.
