
SOUTH CAROLINA — Hardeeville Police arrested two women Thursday morning in connection with multiple vehicle break-ins.
According to a police press release, officers responded around 6:06 a.m. on October 2, 2025, to Ernest Street following reports of suspicious individuals attempting to enter vehicles.
Officers located two women matching the description provided. One suspect fled on foot and resisted officers during apprehension.
The women were identified as 21-year-old Alexis Iyana Mcherson and 23-year-old Javara Arkwright, both of Hardeeville. Police recovered stolen property from multiple vehicle break-ins in their possession. Both also had active arrest warrants for unrelated incidents.
Mcherson was charged with tampering with a motor vehicle, breaking into a motor vehicle, and financial transaction card theft. Arkwright faces charges including tampering with a motor vehicle, breaking into a motor vehicle, obstruction, resisting arrest, assault on an officer, and providing false information to law enforcement.
Both were taken into custody and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center. Police say the investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is urged to contact the Hardeeville Police Department or Jasper County Dispatch.
All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
