INDIANA — A Frankfort man was killed in a single-car crash early Monday morning, according to the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office.
The crash was reported around 5:30 a.m. on Sept. 29 along U.S. 421, just south of County Road 400 South. Investigators said a 2000 Mitsubishi sedan was traveling north when, for an unknown reason, the driver lost control and struck a tree off the side of the road.
The passenger, a man from Frankfort, was pronounced dead at the scene from injuries sustained in the crash. His name has not yet been released pending notification of family.
The driver was taken to IU Health Arnett Hospital in Lafayette before being transferred to IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. Authorities have not released an update on the driver’s condition.
Indiana State Police is assisting with the ongoing investigation.
