VIRGINIA — A 38-year-old woman was arrested Friday after a two-vehicle crash led deputies to discover illegal drugs, authorities reported.

The York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office said deputies responded to the 2400 block of Big Bethel Road in the afternoon.

Witnesses told officers that the driver, identified as Angela Ann Gaidowski, threw an item into nearby woods during the incident. Deputies recovered a “significant quantity” of illegal narcotics and found additional drugs and drug paraphernalia inside her vehicle.

Gaidowski was arrested and charged with felony possession of Schedule I or II drugs, felony possession with intent to distribute Schedule I or II drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia, reckless driving, and driving on a suspended license. She is being held at the Virginia Peninsula Regional Jail.
