INDIANA — A man was shot in the chest early Sunday morning in Richmond, according to the Richmond Police Department.
Fire crews were dispatched to the 800 block of North 19th Street shortly before 3 a.m. on reports of a person having trouble breathing. When they arrived, first responders found a man suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest.
Medics quickly requested police officers to respond, and detectives later located a crime scene at a house in the 900 block of North 19th Street. Investigators executed a search warrant and collected evidence from the residence.
The victim was initially taken to Reid Health but was later transferred to Miami Valley Hospital. His condition has not been released.
Police believe the shooting was an isolated incident and say there is no ongoing threat to the community.
