OHIO — A 21-year-old motorcyclist died after a crash in west Toledo on Saturday evening, according to police.
The incident occurred just after 7 p.m. at the intersection of Douglas Road and Newport Avenue.
A Toledo police report said the driver of a Jeep attempted to pass a stopped car that was waiting to make a left turn.
At the same time, a speeding motorcycle approached the vehicles and attempted to brake. The motorcycle lost control, slid on its side, and struck both cars.
The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. Police said the driver of the Jeep left before officers arrived.
The crash remains under investigation.
