
KENTUCKY — Kentucky State Police are investigating a fatal collision between a semi-truck and a pedestrian that occurred early Monday morning in Christian County.
According to KSP, the crash happened on Interstate 24 westbound near the 74-mile marker after Christian County 911 Dispatch requested assistance.
Preliminary findings show that 36-year-old Stephen Adams of Pleasant View, Tennessee, was driving a semi-truck westbound when he saw a vehicle stopped on the shoulder. Adams moved into the left lane to yield and struck a pedestrian standing in the roadway.
The pedestrian was identified as 29-year-old Kenneth Blackley of Golden Valley, Minnesota. He was pronounced dead at the scene by the Christian County Coroner. The Plymouth Police Department in Minnesota assisted with notifying his family.
Adams was not injured. No charges have been filed at this time.
The crash remains under investigation by Trooper Nathan Pedigo.
