NORTH CAROLINA — Police are investigating a deadly pedestrian crash that occurred Monday morning on SW Maynard Road near Kildaire Farm Road.
The crash was reported around 7:45 a.m. near the Kilmayne Drive intersection. When officers arrived, they found a person who had been struck by a vehicle and was already dead at the scene, according to Cary police.
The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and spoke with officers. Police have not released the names of those involved, and it is unclear whether charges will be filed.
Several lanes were blocked during the investigation. A gold sedan with a shattered windshield was seen parked in the road, and a white tent was set up over the crash scene.
The investigation is ongoing.
