NORTH CAROLINA — Police are investigating a shooting that left several people injured early Sunday morning.
Officers responded around 6 a.m. to reports of gunfire in the 2100 block of Benvenue Road, according to the Rocky Mount Police Department.
Authorities confirmed that multiple people were taken for treatment of injuries, though the number of victims and the extent of their conditions have not been released.
Police urged residents to avoid the area while the investigation continues.
