Five people arrested following drug bust in Louisiana

LOUISIANA — Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre announced Friday that five people were arrested as part of an ongoing narcotics investigation.

Authorities had been investigating 46-year-old Mitchell Folse of Lockport for his alleged involvement with illegal drugs. Agents obtained an arrest warrant for Folse for operating a dwelling for narcotics use and a search warrant for his residence on Mar Drive.

During the Sept. 17 search, officers found methamphetamine, Schedule II pills, drug paraphernalia, stolen property, and four firearms. Folse was arrested and booked into the Lafourche Parish Correctional Complex in Thibodaux. He also faces charges of possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of stolen property. Bail was set at $121,000.

Four others were arrested during the operation:

  • Storm Ford, 26, of Cut Off: possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, illegal carrying of a weapon in the presence of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of drug paraphernalia, and obstruction of justice.
  • Kia Thompson, 30, of Lockport: possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, possession of Schedule II controlled dangerous substance, possession of a firearm in the presence of a controlled dangerous substance, obstruction of justice, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
  • Clyde Poindexter Jr., 46, of Lockport: obstruction of justice, possession of drug paraphernalia, and two counts of contempt of court.
  • Emily Rodriguez, 37, of Lockport: obstruction of justice and possession of drug paraphernalia.
