OHIO — A Sheetz customer in Amherst is celebrating after winning a $100,000 top prize on a $5 Big Win scratch-off ticket.

The ticket was purchased at Sheetz #744, located at 799 N. Leavitt Road. The store will receive a $1,000 sales bonus for selling the winning ticket.

The winner, who has not been identified, will take home about $72,000 after federal and state tax withholdings. He beat odds of 1 in 1.5 million to claim the game’s top prize.

As of Sept. 18, two top prizes remain in the Big Win game, along with other cash prizes. The overall odds of winning any prize are 1 in 4.20, according to the Ohio Lottery.

Since its inception in 1974, the Ohio Lottery has contributed more than $33 billion to education across the state. More information about the lottery and its role in supporting education can be found at www.ohiolottery.com/supportingeducation.
