INDIANA — A 26-year-old motorcyclist from Coldwater, Michigan, was critically injured Tuesday night after colliding with a car in northern Steuben County, authorities said.
Police said the crash occurred just after 10 p.m. at the intersection of CR 400 N and SR 127. An 18-year-old driver stopped at the intersection reportedly did not see the oncoming motorcycle and turned left into its path, causing the collision.
The motorcyclist was transported to a Fort Wayne hospital in critical condition. The car driver was not injured, though police believe the driver may have been using a phone shortly before the crash.
The crash forced a closure of SR 127 for more than an hour and a half. The investigation is ongoing.
