OHIO — A construction worker was hospitalized early Wednesday after a tractor-trailer struck a work vehicle on Interstate 70, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
Troopers from the Springfield Post responded just before 1:20 a.m. to the crash on I-70 westbound near State Route 235.
Investigators said a Truck Mounted Attenuator (TMA) vehicle, equipped with an active arrow board and construction lights, was shutting down the right lane for construction when a 2024 tractor-trailer struck it from behind. The impact pushed the TMA vehicle across the westbound lanes and into the median wall.
The driver of the TMA vehicle, a construction worker, was taken to Miami Valley Hospital with minor injuries.
The tractor-trailer driver, Rajinder Singh, 39, of Maryland, was not injured and was cited in connection with the crash.
The incident remains under investigation by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
