OHIO — A homeless man was fatally shot last week in a tent behind a Canton business, police said.
Officers responded to the 1300 block of Wernet Court SW, behind Renner’s Plumbing Supply, on Sept. 10. Firefighters were also called after a small propane tank caught fire inside the tent. The fire was quickly extinguished.
The victim, identified as John Michael Lee, was taken to Aultman Hospital, where he died from his injuries.
Police arrested Justen Ove and charged him with murder. He appeared in Canton Municipal Court on Monday, where his bond was continued at $1 million. Ove is scheduled to return to court Wednesday for his arraignment.
Authorities have not released a motive in the case.
