OHIO — Authorities are searching for an 89-year-old man who went missing from his home south of St. Henry on Sunday.
The Mercer County Sheriff’s Office said Roger Stachler was last seen around noon at his residence in the 1700 block of State Route 118. He was reported missing at about 8:33 p.m. by his wife, who returned home from work and was unable to find him.
Deputies, along with personnel from several agencies, neighbors, and bystanders, searched the property and surrounding fields and wooded areas. Drones, K-9 units, and an Ohio State Highway Patrol helicopter from Columbus were also used in the search.
The search was suspended at 1 a.m. Monday and will resume in the morning, according to the sheriff’s office.
Stachler is described as 5 feet 9 inches tall, weighing about 130 pounds, and unsteady on his feet. He was last seen wearing khaki pants, a black T-shirt, and a black ball cap.
