OHIO — A 27-year-old Shreve man was killed Sunday afternoon in a head-on crash on State Route 511, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Troopers said the crash happened around 3:53 p.m., south of U.S. Route 30. Investigators said Noah David Carmel Rogers was riding a 1995 Honda VF750C motorcycle southbound when he attempted to pass two other motorcycles. His bike went left of center and struck a northbound 2019 Chevrolet Colorado head-on.

Rogers was ejected from the motorcycle and pronounced dead at the scene.

A 2005 Suzuki VL1500 motorcycle was also involved in the crash. Its rider was taken to University Hospital Ashland Samaritan Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the Chevrolet was treated at the scene for minor injuries.

The Ashland County Sheriff’s Office, Hayesville Fire Department, Ashland Fire Department, and the Ashland County Coroner’s Office assisted at the scene. State Route 511 was closed for about four hours while troopers investigated.

The crash remains under investigation.
