TENNESSEE — Two men were arrested and drugs, weapons, and cash were seized after a search warrant was executed at a West Knoxville home, according to the Knoxville Police Department.
On Wednesday, officers executed the warrant at a residence on Toxaway Drive as part of an ongoing investigation into two overdose deaths and the distribution of fentanyl in the area.
The operation involved the KPD Organized Crime Unit, the Drug Related Death Task Force, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, and the 5th Judicial Drug Task Force.
Police said nearly 65 grams of suspected fentanyl, more than 35 grams of suspected psilocybin mushrooms, two handguns — including one reported stolen in 2022 — and over $2,200 in cash were recovered.
William Aldridge, 46, and Brandon Bayne, 36, were taken into custody during the operation.
Both face charges that include maintaining a dwelling for drug purposes, possession of Schedule I drugs, possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, tampering with evidence, and felony theft, according to KPD.
